For the most part our bodies do a pretty good job generating the various protection systems to keep us all functioning properly. However one thing it does and can not produce is an essential fatty acid known as Omega 3. This is not that important when we are younger, but as we age, then we tend to need this in our diet. The reason for this is that the body does not naturally produce this type of essential fat, and so we need some supplemental way of taking this.
Whether we realise it or not, most of us get enough of this if we eat fish regularly or take some type of supplemental product. For those who are not regular fish eaters, then we will be lacking in Omega 3. I discovered a way to supplement this was to take fish oil or fish oil capsules but they do have a strong taste so I looked around for something a bit more pleasant and discovered that many people were talking about Flaxseed oil.
There was some information about this on the Internet but I found it to be vague and not covered in great detail which is why I have put this website together. There is also a lot of pretty useless information out there with people making many random claims about the benefits of this oil. I have tried to bring some sense and sanity to all of those as well.
I hope you enjoy the information and if you have any questions or comments please fill in the contact form and I will drop you a reply. The important thing to remember I believe, is to avoid the hype and simple look at the actual facts.
